The Canadian Deprescribing Network
The Canadian Deprescribing Network is a group of health care leaders, clinicians, decision-makers, academic researchers and patient advocates working together to mobilize knowledge and promote the deprescribing of medication that may no longer be of benefit or that may be causing harm.
Canadian Association for Retired Persons (CARP)
CARP is Canada’s largest advocacy association for older Canadians. Formerly the Canadian Association for Retired Persons, today CARP has more than 300,000 members aged 50 plus. As a non-partisan association, CARP is committed to working with all parties in government to advocate for older Canadians. Its mission is to advocate for better healthcare, financial security, and freedom from ageism.
Government of Newfoundland and LabradorHealth and Community Services
Health and Community Services provides a leadership role in health and community services programs and policy development for the province. This involves working in partnership with a number of key stakeholders including regional health authorities, community organizations, professional associations, post-secondary educational institutions, unions, consumers and other government departments.
Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association
The Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA) is the voice of organized medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. A division of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), the NLMA is a non-profit professional organization funded primarily by its members. The Association represents the views of the physicians of the province with governments, the media and the general public. It also advocates on behalf of all patients for a fair and equitable health care system in Newfoundland and Labrador, and Canada.

College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
The College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is the regulatory body for all Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in this province. CRNNL’s professional association role is to promote activities to advance healthy public policy.
Medication Therapy Services Clinic
The Medication Therapy Services Clinic, or MTS Clinic, is a “pharmacist-clinic” run by the School of Pharmacy at Memorial University. The clinic pharmacists see patients by appointment to provide in-depth medication assessments, and work with patients, their doctors and community pharmacists (and other health providers) to ensure they are taking the best medications for them, and using them in a way to ensure they are receiving the full benefit. Patients can be referred by their health provider or call themselves to book an appointment anytime.
Provincial Advisory Council for Aging and Seniors
The Provincial Advisory Council on Aging and Seniors advises government in preparing for an aging population by ensuring that a seniors' perspective is reflected in policy development and in planning for future service delivery. The mandate of this Council is to advise and inform government on issues, concerns and needs of seniors.
